Marge Wheeler Marge Wheeler is a life-long resident of the San Francisco area, who has had her life colored by the panorama of the Bay Area. Marge's interest in music preceded her nursing education. She studied flute and piccolo in the music departments of the San Francisco Public Schools. This experience later led to the study of the piano, as an adult. She continues her music studies privately with classically trained musicians affiliated with the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and the San Francisco Opera Company. Marge's earliest compositions were a natural outgrowth from band music played in jr. high and high school bands. Her marches for band have been performed in the San Francisco area and in Washington D.C. More recently, Marge has written for classical guitar and balalaika, piano, piano-four hands, flute, piccolo, violin and voice. At the request of singers, Marge has also collaborated with Nicholas Halbach, who wrote lyrics to her Waltz. Marge Wheeler lives with her husband and two Scottish terriers in Mt. Shasta, California and continues her dual careers in music and nursing. Music appears to be taking over a greater portion of her career, with all the music Marge says she has yet to write. Marge's work is featured on the Art Giving Heart DVD video, produced by SAC in 2004. www.margewheeler.com Email to stetmar@ix.netcom.com |
